The online BA (Hons) Applied Business (Management) degree provides students with the skills and understanding required to excel as strategic and operational managers in the modern business environment. Students will come to understand the classic principles of management and their relevance in today’s context, but will also evaluate the challenges and opportunities that have arisen in what is a highly globalised, digitised, and thus diverse, modern business environment. Studying this programme, students also develop entrepreneurial skill sets that assist in effective management within the high-paced digital economy, as well as foster interpreneurial capacity within established organisations. Modules

Level 4 (Year 1) begins with business fundamentals, introducing students to key ideas which underpin areas, such as, management, marketing, finance, and developing business models. Level 5 (Year 2) seeks to build on the knowledge gained at Level 4, studying wider business areas, such as the digital disruption to business, HR management, and business accountability. Level 6 (Year 3) builds on the knowledge gained at Level 4 and 5, developing real-world business skills, studying topics such as, how organisations change, management strategies, and pathway specific modules.

Assessment method

Assessment methods vary from module to module but you can expect a range of assessments including, reports, presentations and analyses. Assessments combine academic rigour with authentic “real-world” tasks that demonstrate a student’s ability to meaningfully apply their knowledge and skills.
