You’ll graduate equipped for a career as a professional engineer in the renewable, built environment and traditional energy industries. As an energy engineer, you’ll be exploring cleaner, more efficient ways of using fossil fuels, while investigating and specifying the design of renewable energy developing systems using renewable and sustainable resources, such as solar and wind energy. You will also look at how local climate impacts on the design and selection of these systems, and consider their life cycle and carbon footprint. Standard Qualification Requirements

Minimum Year 2 Entry Requirements SQA Advanced Higher - BBC including Maths and a Science (excluding Biology) or Technical Subject* and National 5 C in English. A-levels - BBB including Maths and a Science (excluding Biology) or Technical Subject* and GCSE Grade C/4 in English. HNC - Pass in a relevant subject with Grade B in the graded unit. Must include Engineering Maths 1, 2 and 3. Minimum Year 3 Entry Requirements HND - Pass in a relevant subject with Grades BB at SCQF Level 8 in the graded units. Must include Engineering Maths 1, 2, 3, 4 and Thermofluids. DUT - Pass DUT in a relevant subject with overall grade 12 to include English at 11 in final year of studies. Minimum Year 4 Entry Requirements Irish Ordinary Degree - Pass in a relevant subject with 50% overall, with minimum 50% at first sitting in all final year subjects. *Science and Technical Subjects Accepted: Physics, Engineering Science, Design & Manufacture, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Graphic Communication, Computing Science, Design & Technology.
