Marketing is one of the most exciting, fast-paced and varied careers in the business world combining both creative and analytical skills. This degree sets Marketing within the wider business context; you will develop the range of leadership and management skills you need for your career as well as covering key aspects of marketing such as communications, digital marketing and social media marketing. You will also build your personal portfolio of professional evidence which will enhance your CV and help you in job applications and interviews. This course is taught at our University of Salford campus close to Manchester city centre. We have worked with industry partners to make sure the programme is highly practical, career-focused and industry-informed to prepare you for a successful career. As a marketing student, you’ll also benefit from our industry links with guest speakers from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors providing you with an insight into how different organisations market themselves in different environments. The Placement Year gives you the opportunity to apply the skills, knowledge and understanding you have gained in the first two years of the course. Modules
Year 1: Understanding Organisations, Digital and Business Skills, Mobile, Media and Marketing, Data Analysis for Business, The Future of Business, Campaigns in Practice. Year 2: Professional Development, Customer Experience and Value Creation, Analysis for Social Media, Project Management, Marketing Communications, Live Project: Digital Marketing. On completion of year 2 you may choose to undertake a year's paid professional placement. If you choose to take the professional year option, you will not pay fees to the University and will earn a wage for the work that you do. Year 4: Business Ethics and Sustainability, Advanced Digital Marketing, Leadership and Management in Marketing, Emerging Themes in Marketing, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management in Marketing.
