Course summary

Learn how to succeed as an engineer by developing essential theoretical and practical knowledge and skills, with our part-time Manufacturing Engineering degree in Peterborough. Our part-time Manufacturing Engineering degree is a flexible way to acquire technical proficiency in manufacturing engineering. It will suit you if you already have relevant work experience and want to develop your skills, or if you’re thinking of pursuing a career in engineering. As a student at ARU Peterborough, you’ll master the fundamentals and technical concepts that underpin manufacturing engineering, and work with a local company on a real-life engineering issue. What’s more, you can attain a full honours degree while you work. From day one, you’ll get hands-on with practical activities in our specialist workshops. But you’ll also hone your understanding of the theory behind the practice, as well as your creative problem-solving skills. In your final year, you’ll undertake an individual project, where you’ll work directly with employers in the region’s manufacturing sector to tackle a genuine engineering problem. If you’re already working in the industry, our BEng (Hons) Manufacturing Engineering course will help you develop skills in product design and manufacture and achieve your goals in this sector. Meanwhile, if you’re thinking of pursuing a career in manufacturing, this is a chance to acquire the theoretical and practical skills you need to succeed. You’ll engage with professionals and industry stakeholders and get a real feel for the workplace. This is a new course starting in September 2022 and is subject to validation.

Assessment method

Assessment is done on an ongoing basis and includes a combination of coursework, presentations, reports and some exams or in-class tests. You will receive structured, insightful feedback throughout your degree course.
